Astoria is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Astoria follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

TL;DR: Halal Burmese joint with excellent curries in particular. Might be closer to a 4, but I'll bump it up until I try it again I went to the new Burmese Bites location with a group about a week ago, having had their food before at the Queens Night Market but never having unfortunately gone to their whole location in a mall in Elmhurst. There were many people waiting for tables or takeout while we were eating, and especially afterward, so you may want to come early. The first dish that arrived was their alright take on the Burmese national dish, Mohinga for $15. As we were splitting everything, they provided bowls and extra spoons for everyone, and the portion was definitely decent for the price. The dish was decent, but it felt like it was missing something. I like the amount of fritters, but I wish there were more banana blossom for texture. I also felt the flavor was a bit too light compared to either Sophie's or Asian Bowl, and less thick. I'm not sure if it's because they're straining it too much, but the dish needed the fish sauce on the table to add more flavor, which is usually not the case. The most comparable version is at Little Myanmar, which definitely isn't my fav

The food is INCREDIBLE. Every single dish was flavorful, the portions were generous, and the price was very good for Astoria! Also, it was super busy for a Wednesday night, but the staff were gracious and kind. Very friendly, hardworking people. Here is what we ordered (photos in order): Appetizer: Burmese Bites Rolls (yum, the sauce was soooo good) Noodle Soup: Ohno Kaukswe (OUR FAVORITE DISH!) Rice Dish: Dum Pot (biriyani, came with a massive chicken thigh and some sort of shaved mango salad? huge portion!) Salad: Ka Yan Chin Thee Thoke (tomato and peanut salad, surprisingly tasty for a salad) Tip: If the door on 31st ave does not work, loop around the corner and use their entrance on 38th street instead. Something is funky with their front door. 5 stars, no notes, will be coming back to try more of their delicious food. Welcome to Astoria Burmese Bites we are so glad you came to the neighborhood!

This was all delicious! Service was great, they were happy to give recommendations and answer all our questions and the food came out quickly. Everything was very flavorful, but not too heavy.

I was so excited to finally visit Burmese Bites again after loving their food at Queens Center Mall. This was my first time at their new Astoria location, and it definitely lived up to my expectations! ( even though it take some time to get the seat since they are new to the location and short in staff so u gotta be patient) The food was just as delicious as I remembered. We tried the keema palata, nan gyi noodles, fried wontons, and Burmese milk tea( literally hit the Myanmar taste) and everything was fresh, flavorful, and full of authentic taste. Iβm really happy they found a new home in Astoria. If youβve never tried Burmese food before, this is the perfect place to start.

Been following them even before they were in the Queens Mall food court, and now they finally settled in a much bigger place in Astoria, with an even bigger menu! Truly the best new addition to the neighborhood. Myo Thway, the owner, was super nice and friendly and he gave us great recs. One thing that we tried that blew our minds were their Fish Curry. Itβs incredible, unlike any other fish curries Iβve tried before. Itβs feels light and refreshing and hitting all the notes. Beef Curry was almost Rendang-like. Their blanched peashoot salad with salad was a surprise hit! I probably wouldnβt get the crudites with the blended fish dipping thingy again next time. Excited to come back and try more!
